Finally finished and put together the @paintboxyarns Bubble Stitch cardigan for my beautiful friend @idgiebeau who I got to socially distant deliver it to today. Been using a lot of my knitting time to also listen to audiobooks, read more about optical allyship, and consider more ways to be actively anti-racist. Part of me feels like it’s posturing to include that in this post on my knitting IG but I do think it’s important right now to keep talking about it and keep the pressure on our workplaces, hobbies and ourselves if we are not Black. We cannot just act like we’re back to normal. I started knitting again to alleviate anxiety and because I found it meditative to make something in an increasingly digital world. I think like anything else it can be a tool we use to make the world a bit better, even just by using the time it takes as time to multi-task by listening, watching, learning….
